§ 78-64. Requests for permanent discontinuance of service.

(a)

A property owner may request to permanently disconnect the connection to the village's water and wastewater system when there is no longer a dwelling or other structure with a kitchen, bathroom or other facilities or equipment utilizing water or creating wastewater on the property. The property owner shall submit a written request for permanent disconnection to the village with proof that the property no longer has any dwellings, structures or other water or wastewater facilities or equipment. Service will not be reactivated until all service initiation and connection fees have been paid.

(b)

After receipt of the request and approval by the director of public services, the village shall disconnect the water and wastewater service to the property and refund any deposit remaining due as provided in section 78-65.
