§ 78-66. Connection fees.

  • (a)

    Generally. The fees for connection to the village water and wastewater system are as set by resolution of the village council from time to time. Water meter connection fees shall be paid when a meter is requested and shall be based upon the meter size.

    (b)

    Water main connection fees. All water connections to the water system shall be charged, in addition to the water connection fee, a fee per front foot of abutting property. In the case of corner lots with water mains along both sides, the longer of the two sides of the lot will be used to determine the assessment. The assessment shall be applied to both sides of an affected street.

    (c)

    Wastewater line connection fees. All wastewater connections shall be charged a fee per front foot of abutting property. In the case of corner lots, the longer of the two sides of the lot will be used to determine the assessment. The assessment shall be applied to both sides of an affected street.

    (d)

    Contributions in lieu of fees. In lieu of the line connection fees, an applicant for service may make contributions in aid of construction equivalent to the cost of providing water and wastewater lines to reach the applicant's property. The size of such lines shall be established by the village water and wastewater master plan and the village manager.
