§ 58-9. Accessing contracts of other government agencies.

Latest version.
  • The village may award a contract by piggy-backing or accessing the goods and/or services from any state contract; contracts of any Florida political subdivision; or from any other governmental entity (other than the federal government); provided that the same or substantially similar goods and/or services were competitively solicited.

Before any purchase controlled by this section can be made, vendors shall comply with all village requirements (see section on vendor qualifications/selection). A copy of the contract and/or award documents shall be obtained from the applicable government agency. If these documents are not available, copies of specific pages with information on the contract (or bid) number and its expiration date, terms and conditions, the goods and/or services description and unit pricing, warranty period, and other pertinent information shall be obtained. When accessing another governmental agency's contract, the user department must be careful to review the terms and condition of that contract, noting that vendors can provide goods and/or services only in those categories in which they were awarded on the competitively solicited proposal or bid.

The village manager must approve all village purchases from government agency contracts which are anticipated to have a total value of up to $25,000.00. The council must approve all village purchases from government agency contracts which are anticipated to have a total value of more than $25,000.00.
