Chapter 62. SOLID WASTE |
Article II. COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL GENERALLY |
§ 62-44. Other collection.
(a)
Roll off collection and/or special collection from the collector is required for all building permits within the village. Any holder of a building permit including, but not limited to, holders engaged in development, construction or remodeling of single-family dwellings, multi-family dwellings and any commercial establishments in the village, shall be required to maintain, on the building site only roll off containers or other containers supplied by the collector for collection of construction debris except as provided for and set forth in F.S. § 403.706, for recovered materials and recovered material dealers. The failure of any building permit holder to comply with this section will result in the issuance of a "stop work" order for the building site until compliance occurs. This section may also be enforced through the village's code enforcement procedures.
(b)
Demolition contractors not engaging in roll off collection as defined in this article may haul their debris directly to a legal disposal site, approved by the state after obtaining a permit from the village.
(c)
Tree trimmers and professional yard maintenance responsibility. Professional tree trimmers shall be responsible for removal of the vegetative waste generated from their jobs and may not leave any piles of vegetative waste to be collected by the collector. Any landscaping company, yard maintenance company or tree trimming service will be charged a special collection rate plus administrative fee for the removal of any vegetative waste left for collection at any location in the village by the collector. This does not prevent any property owner or occupant from contracting lawn service and placing vegetative waste out for that property at the designated time for removal.
